We live and recover

For all of you who care for us helped or help us here’s a little „update“ on the development of the injuries of everyone involved with the accident of Bombenalarm. On the 22nd of September the right back tire of our van blew on the way to our show in Berlin and the van tumbled 3 times. About three weeks later 5 of the 6 that were inside the van left the hospital and are back home again. The wounds and bones are healing but slowly….
Marc’s foot is broken and so are some parts of his spine. He has crutches and a corset and will be really limited for the next months. Norman has some broken ribs. It’ll also take a while for him till everything is alright again. Stachel has several broken ribs and a broken shoulder. He had to stay for a quite long time in intensive care in hospital which took away a lot of strength. But he’s also doing much better and he is back home in Bremen now. Sarah (our friend from Muelheim) has some broken ribs and a broken shoulder as well. Due to the incompetence of the doctors in Braunschweig (the first hospital she went to) she moved to a different hospital in Essen to get an operation there. Of course this operation should have been made much earlier, which means that things are more complicated for here now. Fabian will be ok in a couple of weeks when his arm is totally healed again. Christoph just had some minor injuries which are almost fully healed already.
It looks like everyone had a health insurance. So we don’t expect high costs concerning this. It’s difficult to say how much money we will need for the van and equipment and stuff right now as we don’t know yet how much the assurance will pay. I guess the worst case would be something like 10.000 €. But we hope and also expect that the assurance will pay something.
We would like to thank everyone who thought of us, cared for us, took care of us, visited us in hospital, wrote letters and mails, donated money and organized or will organize benefit shows or similar things. It’s hard to describe how good it feels, that so many people are there for us when something shitty like this happens. It’s not only the financial help but much more the emotional help that feels so good. Thanks you all so much for your kind support.
Marc, Norman, Fabian, Stachel, Sarah and Christoph
